Yeah, game's looking pretty good. The visibility meter thing is kind of big and honking, kind of hoping they streamline that a bit:

Stealth game of the year. I haven't been following it too closely though. It does have an eventual win state doesn't it?

I believe that is finding a way off the island/out of the hunting zone.

Enjoying the game concept. Not 100% sure I like the campy '70s random beeping sounds the robots make close up, but I'm sure I'll live with it.

I'd take campy over dark and gritty any day, but it does sound like a placeholder.
(OT: I still remember my excitement discovering how to make the bleepy robot sound by applying heavy noise reduction to white noise. :D )

I did think placeholder when I heard it. It's not like dark & gritty is the only alternative to campy.
I'd just imagine the game being a little more immersive if they found a better sound for the robots to make. It makes it sound a bit amateur I think. The vocoded voices are good though :)

Oh I'm sure that when you're down to your last sliver of health, lying unarmed in a bush, and you hear those bleepy noises getting closer and closer you'll think they're scary enough. :D
Gameplayvideo looks great.

I also like the aesthetic. The contrast between the corny Brit sci-fi look and the stress and paranoia of being hunted could be very effective.
faetal, you've also said in the past that you minded the more stylised look of Dishonored (and possibly Bioshock Infinite), right? It sounds like you're not a big fan of stylised aesthetics on the whole, unless I'm misremembering.

Yet are you fine with them being tea swirling, pipe smoking, posh robots who wear top hats and monocles? They even coined "tweedpunk" to describe their art direction and presentation. If you don't like dry British humour then I'm sorry, it probably won't be the game for you.

You remember correctly.
Only when they are mis-matched against what I see as the game's mood.
Best example I can think of is Bioshock 1 - scary sci-fi horror in a subaquatic technocrat utopia gone wrong, with essentially an aesthetic and character that is more comical than it is scary. The circus vending machines, the plasmid advertisement videos, the clunky little flying security robots. Just at odds with the setup IMO. I'm re-playing it again now and while I am enjoying it, I don't find its setting to be very well realized other than the architecture and water. They created an amazing place and then filled it with a slightly gorier take on Adam West era Batman henchmen.
I didn't like the caricature style of NPCs in Dishonoured because of the huge hands and over-proportioned faces. Again, it (for me) detracted from the immersiveness of the game. To be fair though, I've scarcely given Dishonoured a chance, so I don't consider my opinion to be super-valid.
With SirYABH, it is more that I just think the beepy noises sound a little amateurish. The idea is totally in keeping with the game which is comical to its core - being chased around an island by posh robots, but I just feel they could have done better with that one sound. It's a personal taste thing obviously - not a final word.
