Not anymore for the most part; my beefy desktop runs VS studio much better. BUT part of my job is also general admining and online marketing, which involves doing a lot of research, reading on SEO practices / Tech Manuals, developing advertising strategies, making mockups, preparing reports/long emails etc. Which works well enough on a laptop.
Not to mention other non-web coding-specific freelance jobs/hobbies on the side. And

My laptop is big and has a normal keyboard, I even got a proper numpad. dont mind soft keys.
