I was hoping someone could make a traditional oil lamp sort of like Colemans but in a medieval style. My guards are carrying around lamps but doesn't look very realistic.

Post a photo of near what you're saying.

You want something like this?

I have these versions as well. All frob on and off. I'm afraid I made them with Anim8or not Sketchup.

Awesome lamps Larry!
The last one; how did you do the light shaped from lamp cover? It looks better than object system/ runtime shadow, routine.

The base is a separate object from the glassware, which has the light. The base acts like a frobable switch for the glassware light. So the base would occlude the light path ... That's all it is. Nothing special there.

I can't post any pictures yet but Larry's last model is close to what I was thinking about.

When you can show what you want, it may be easier to tweak one of the models I already am using. I have sound and schema, particle effect, and archetype setup for them too. Let me know. Maybe PM me rather than hijack this thread further.

I see, maybe my settings are wrong. Having not tried your setup, I am guessing mine will be big black square banding shadows, going off of what my lanterns have shown me already. That looks like a smooth round shape. To the dromed-mobile!
