This was an odd one. While hanging around in Skingrad a bloke called Glarthir asked me to meet him behind the chapel at midnight. Sounded a bit dodgy, but what the hell, I needed the cash. He asks me to spy on various people of the town, who is sure is watching him.
So I end up following people around for a day while they fail to follow Glarthir, and then honestly tell him that they weren't spying on him. A bit dull actually, but he pays you 150 gold at least for each person. However, you get more money without having to kill anyone by saying the vineyard guy was in on the "conspiracy" and get a 200 gold advance, then grass him up to the guards who kill him and leave him in the street. Rough justice...
The first time I was honest and in that case, he thinks you're in on it and tries to kill you, but he's not much of a threat. I hewed him down while guards were shooting him with arrows, and to give an example of silly AI, the guards walk up to me and say "hi" as if nothing just happened. "I hear he turned up dead" they say, while practically standing on the guy's dead body...
Has anyone taken the violent route as yet? Theoretically you could lie and say they were spying on him, and then he'd ask you to kill them all off. How much does he actually pay in that case?

I also said the last wine guy was spying on him, which meant i had to kill him. But i planned to just tell him, that the crazy elf wanted me to kill him. That resulted in him running of to find him, and erh... he had an encounter with a bear on the way. Needless to say "I" got him killed, and recieved 1000 gold from the crazy elf.

Have you been awaken by the local guard captain and interrogated about asking around about him too much? I did. You are given an opportunity to actually work for the "other side". :D

Ive told the elf that every1 is spying on him, 150 for first person then 200 for the next two. Now he wants me to kill all of them. And now im stuck.
Whenever i attack any of the people (usually while they are sleeping), they shout for help and the gaurds come a running. Any1 got any advice of how to kill these guys without attracting the guards?

You should be able to do it making use of the stealth bonus.

Even better, when you first meet him behind the chapel where he tells you what he wants you to do, you can tell him you don't want to help him. He figures you're in on it and decides to 'take matters into his own hands'. He proceeds to wander off to his house muttering crazytalk and then goes inside. Shortly afterward, he wanders out with a battleaxe strapped to his back and goes across the street to enter the house of the first woman he wants you to spy on, walks up to her room and proceeds to try to kill her... with a battleaxe.
At this point, you can involve yourself... if you don't do anything when he goes into her house, he'll kill her and shortly afterward if you talk to the guards they'll say he wound up dead but only after he killed the poor girl. If you follow him into her house and up to her room, you can attack him and kill him to save her. Just make sure you don't attack him until he attacks her... otherwise, you're a murderer. :tsktsk:
Oddly enough, after he started hacking at her and I attacked him and killed him, saving her life, she came back down to her room after running off and told me I better leave... not even a thank you.

I was kind of hoping that the last person that he had me spy on would really be spying on him, and that it would turn into a very X-Files set of side quests. Maybe next time...

God damn Dranyth, that is freakin' hilarious!!! The way you describe him walking back out w/that battleaxe strapped to his back.....priceless. I gotta see that!!!

After wasting a whole game-day watching the first "spy," I concluded he was crazy and for the next 2 days I just went dungeon crawling around the city until midnight, when I would tell him they were all spying on him. Then at 1 AM I reported him to Rion, the captain of the town guard, who promptly ran outside in his pajamas to the poor guy's house. Now I kind of wish I tried murdering all of them, though. Poison dagger in their sleep = delicious.
