Umm... 2 player collaborative and/or competitive story-telling 8-bit-looking game thingy? Err... I can't explain this any better than the official site, so just click on the "Wondering about this game" link, it's quite interesting.
So far there's (

Good lord, that was painful to watch. Felt like something an ironic hipster would make or a wannabe internet funny man trying to copy Peter Chimaera and/or Jeff K. but failing miserably at it.

i preordered it and played a game with my nephew. it was pretty awesome/funny although we are both totally inept at the game. it certainly has potential and I'm sure it will get a deserved cult following with an highly creative output.

Really looking forward to playing this with distant college friends over the summer - don't have time at the moment, unfortunately. Yeah, creating objects is kind of a pain but otherwise it seems not *too* hard to control.

i just took some prebaked sets, most work was typing text and moving a few objects/characters around. it certainly helps if you got at least a slight idea what you wanna do/tell.

Cue in millions of stories involving goat se [apparently putting it as one word is censored lol] and dicks.
But the concept is pretty interesting. It's almost like an e-DnD. Reminds me of NeverwinterNights, just less complex and without the combat.

Yes, also in the sense it's just as good as the guy (DM) running the show. Some people are better at that role than others. But if one invests time thinking or scripting out a good story, events, and knows how to improvise well, then it could be pretty cool.
Also reminds me of matrix gaming, in the potential anyway. If somebody did a version of this with matrix rules, it could also be very cool. And some way to have a system to track certain states, to allow 'progress', etc... Also not sure I'm such a fan of the 8-bit route. There's a lot of potential here that's only just getting poked in this version.

The 8-bit art is a good decision, because the DM has to be able to create whatever they need within their 30 second window. Big pixels means they don't have to/can't fuss about details and can get on with the storytelling.

The 8-bit text, though, was a godawful decision. It's not even a very good pixel font.

I saw it as mainly as a style choice. This is the same guy that made Passage and Gravity.
I just don't think the mechanic really requires 8-bit... It could have a style like Knytt Stories and I think still be credible and non-distracting in the 30 sec window.
But anyway, it's not even entirely that. This kind of game IMO screams for as much flexibility to the DM as possible, re: tile sets, style, mechanics, etc. And especially on the meta-stuff, not just the assets, so you could push it an RPG-direction, or a RTS-direction, or something else if the DM wanted to 'enforce' or streamline certain mechanics. Maybe it will have that kind of freedom, or maybe he/others will end up making a version that has it. I'm happy that this is out there to get the ball rolling, in any event.
