Sleeping Dogs is free right now for XBox Live Gold subscribers, until the middle of the month when the freebie changes to Lara Croft & The Guardian Of Light. Both great games, pick em up if you have the chance!
Anyway, started playing the Year Of The Snake DLC this morning and blazed through it in a couple hours. I was initially disappointed that you don't get to play the part of Wei doing mundane beat cop work, instead that's just a montage-cutscene and then it's straight back to Wei's usual routine of doing police work by fucking shit up. My disappointment didn't last long though, it was just too much fun being back in Wei's shoes. The story is short on presentation, no cutscenes except for the intro and outro. The missions are pretty good though, especially the later ones when the hour is nearing midnight of Chinese New Year and the streets are errupting in riots.
So yeah, it's good. I do wish someone would make a more down-to-earth Police Simulator type game though. LA Noire did a pretty good job of it I guess, but something current-day would be nice.

I heard this. I mistook it for Watch Dogs and was all O_o

The 3 big DLC's for Sleeping Dogs were great. Pity they released 800 pieces of goddamn horse armor for it. And cheat DLC that you can't disable.

The only other DLC I've played is Nightmare in North Point, which I did not really care for. Those hopping zombies just looked stupid and weren't fun to fight. :erg: What's the 3rd big DLC? Zodiac Tournament?

You know those are (

I know that doesn't necessarily make the game good, I'm just pointing it out. That was one of the reasons I was considering picking the game up actually; the respect for Honk Kong crime and then horror comedy films they put in (still haven't got it yet. A big sandbox is a daunting time sink)

Sleeping Dogs was a real suprise hit for me, bought on sale earlier this year thinking I would get a few hours of open-city fun, but ended up hammering through and finishing it after 30 hours. One of the best GTA style games + stories, really do feel like you are in a hong kong action flick.

Yeah, I know. :)
Haven't seen any of those movies though, maybe if I had I'd appreciate the hopping zombies more.

Ah, you probably won't spend more than (
http://www.howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=8640) 20-30 hours with it really. It's a big nice world, and while there are a few things to do on the side it's not Skyrim or anything.

That's like SR3, I think I only expended about 25 hours on that.

Good man. (and yes they are kind of silly and weird. In movies at least that becomes part of their charm).
And look, I've got two Mass Effects, two Dead Spaces, Crysis 2, Bioshock 2, Fallout 3 and Bloodlines to get through yet.
What are you trying to do to me?

I've still not played this and this thread is making me want to change that. Right after I finish Bioshock 2, AC: Botherhood, The Witcher, Skyrim, Metro Last Light, Stalker Clear Skies, Castlevania, Dark Souls and the various other games I have installed at the moment. I'm thinking I should buy fewer games.
