Hello everyone! I've decided to take a crack at some Thief 2 fanmissions again and I got everything working perfectly on my Windows 11 system. One thing is a bit annoying though, but it's nothing that hurts the game. The Thief 2 main menu image won't change back to the standard/vanilla view but remains 'locked' in a custom main menu you sometimes get in fan missions. Can anyone point me into the right direction how to fix this? Thank you!

If I'm understanding correctly, you're playing the original game still getting the menu screen from an FM? That sounds to me like something is wrong with your directory, and it's not getting properly cleaned out when switching between FMs/OMs.
What fan mission loader are you using? If you're using Darkloader, that could explain it. I'd recommend AngelLoader personally, though FMSelector also works (as long as you keep T1/G and T2 FMs separated).
If you've been using Darkloader, your best bet is probably to start fresh with clean installs, and then use a modern loader, going forward. As a caution, even if it seems like the only issue is a holdover menu screen, there could be other holdover issues that you haven't noticed that may cause other (more serious) problems down the line.

You're right. It is about the main menu not reverting to the original. I am currently using New Darkloader, the most recent build. I have no leftover issues, the original is how it should work. Except the main menu image. Perhaps there's a way to clean it manually?

As trefoilknot said Angleloader is a very good option and easy to install it has many features that works well with all the thief games plus Darkmod and System Shock

Try looking in your Thief2/intrface folder for a file named "main.pcx." There might be other pcx files in that folder that are used with main.pcx and newgame.pcx.
Make sure you are not looking at the intface.crf in the RES folder. This is where the original files are kept.

Thank you very much! I'll look into it and let you know

Nothing so far, even installing the old DarkLoader and cleaning up the game didn't work. Guess it's time for a fresh install. Thanks for the help though
