The second one is actually a fairly decent little stealth shooter that markets itself as a one trick pony for it's gore-porn kill cams (which are pretty cool the first few times). They obviously sold enough units to justify not only making a follow-up, but marketing it in pretty much the exact same way.
They may as well call it Sniper Elite 3: When you shoot people, you can watch their bones and organs explode in slow motion x-ray

won't be an insta-buy or anything but I'll almost certainly get it at some point.
And that point was yesterday! Picked this up for €20 in the current PS4 Store sale. I've played the tutorial mission and half of the first proper mission. Impressions of the goods and the bads are as follows:
The Goods:
-Stealth is quite fleshed out, with distractions, body moving*, and that shadow-based stealth you taffers love.
-Sniping cam is as satisfying as ever.
-I was afraid that having a checkpoint system would make having to tag a bazillion enemies over and over old fast. Thankfully the game is so generous with it's checkpoints this hasn't really been an issue.
The Bads:
-no shoulderswap! This means you'll be advancing with your whole body around a corner before you actually see what's around that corner when you're rounding corners to the right. Boo!
-the openness of the world disappoints by having too many invisible walls some times. In the first mission there's a small lake you could easily run around to get a better vantage point were it not for an invisible wall preventing you from doing so.
I shoulda gotten this on PC tho. Being able to pull off headshots, both when sniping and using the silenced pistol, are of utmost importance. M+KB woulda made this a lot easier. :erg:
