Arma2 has excellent ballistics, and the ACE2 mod enables adjustable crosshairs. Operation Arrowhead, the standalone expansion due out at the end of this month(?) will have adjustable crosshairs by default. I've played organized objective based pvp missions with sniper + spotter (using a laser rangefinder) teams and this is the closest you'll get to a sniper simulation; primarily acting as overwatch for the rest of the team, relaying intel. Opening fire only at the best opportunities to achieve great effect, such as pinning down an enemy fireteam so we can flank or taking down imminent threats to friendlies.
