I picked it up after reading reviews saying Treyarch had upped their game. TBH, it just reminds me of United Offensive - let's throw as much shit at you as we possibly can as quickly as possible until you cross the invisible line and we start throwing shit at you from another direction.

I'm sorry but I don't reckon a bored sounding nerd randomly stating facts about the game doesn't really equate to a good review

all video reviews are bored-sounding nerds - except Zero Punctuation which is the exception to prove the rule.

Maybe Americans should just give up and leave it to the funnier English/Australians

So COD4 is not Portal-short?
and English/Australians funnier? THAT is funny.

is the COD4 single-player campaign really, really short?
It is rather short but it's really great. Quality-wise as good as it gets.

Like I said, at least 8 hours on veteran, easily longer if you aren't a professional. There's a lot of content but none of it is the same.

The Soviet missions in COD5 seem ok. The Marine missions are like, a "worst of COD's AI" collection. "My squad is moving up I should stick with them - oh wait, they totally ignored the 3 enemy soldiers that just shot me in the back." "Hey look, there goes a member of my squad, running right into the middle of a firefight, past 10-15 enemy soldiers, and into a scripted booby trap sequence." And this crap happens nonstop beginning-to-end in every marine mission. It's basic shit that Infinity Ward hasn't had issues with since the first game.
