a very tired one, by all means
woke up at around 10, cleansed my filthy body and put on a suit
nobody in my house knows how to do a tie and neither do i so we came up with some weird approximation of a double windsor knot but i think it was more of a slipknot
went to uni, stood around in a gym for over an hour, had our picture taken- we had two lines, one line went through first, the second line (which i was at the head of, just behind a very pretty blonde girl named maddy) went after, the guy behind me decided to jump into the first line, i'm surprised he didn't don sunglasses and take off riding a magic flying surfboard or something
after that we all shuffled up steps
then steps
then more steps
then oh my god steps
and finally into fifth third arena where we sat down, listened to a bunch of boring white guys, then listened to the president and ceo of western and southern, who talked about helping the community while his company tries to shut down a century-old women's shelter
we got our diplomas (or rather a leather binder with a piece of paper saying our diplomas were in the mail) and spent an hour watching 123059820358 people file past the president and some deans, then we all filtered out one by one and went the fuck home
i am so fucking tired, like, only-girl-on-craigslist tired
but hey
i have a degree now
caps and punctuation to return when i give a shit

You know that song by that puss about how there's no such thing as the real world? You can forget that shit. Hope you get a job on a metal rag. I would read it just for the cutting remarks.
Congrats btw.

They had Cincy St.'s commencement @ 5/3 arena? Wow! Congratulations, and best wishes. That is no small accomplishment, I am seriously stoked for you. Feels good, doesn't it!

Congratulations deth. Welcome to the part of life where you have to take serious people seriously, at least to their face, at least when your job depends on it. Other than that it's not too bad.

when's the part where i'm happy and successful
demagogue on 12/6/2011 at 11:05
:erm:
Well successful means different things depending on what you're doing and is a relative thing, and the line keeps moving anyway.
But happy is easier. When paychecks start rolling in and you're self-sufficient, it's a nice feeling of freedom and independence. And you can hit points where everything clicks, the job, the salary, the location, your relationship or family-status, no big dark clouds on the horizon, and life is good. Or even if everything isn't perfect, life is good if you like the road you're on.
