Talking of PSN - does anyone know where we can get a list of PS1 games for use on the PS3 on PSN, for the UK?
Sony's site is poor at giving info like this. I asked on the official PS3 forums but no joy.

I'll probably get Mirror's Edge and Assassin's Creed (both), having played them on the PC. I think they should play nicely on the PS3.
Out of interest, why would you do that? If you want the experience, why wouldn't you just plug a gamepad into your PC and play them there? I understand why someone would buy two versions of a game if there are notable differences, but if they're largely the same (except the PC version has a few more bells and whistles) what do you think you'll get out of playing the PS3 version? (Real question - I'm honestly a bit puzzled by this and would like to understand it.)

I second Siren. You might be a little 'did I buy a PS3 to look at this' at first, it's a launch-title and a budget one at that. You will hate the controls, I promise, and the worst part is that they did it on purpose. You will hate the game really. But playing it you will because it's really captivating you will end up admiring it's flaws. This game is genuinely terrifying.
And grab Fat Princess and Flower from PSN, must haves.

If you value games as art, then Folklore is a must buy.

Well, Mirror's Edge is one of those games you can play over and over, and now I can play it on my pig plasma TV :) AC I never finished on the PC, so I'll give it a try. Both of these games now cost less than 20 bucks, so it's not that big a deal.

Resistance 1 & 2 I 100% agree on. Absolutely fantastic series of games. Really damn good alternate history storyline behind it.
Heres some others I recommend:
Assassins Creed
Conan (even though its a God of War clone gameplay wise)
Devil May Cry 4 (excellent excellent game)
GTA4
Rockband (best with a few friends over + drinks)
The Darkness
The rest of my favorites on the system have already been mentioned.

There's always the wiki list you can refer to - click on the arrows next to 'EU' to sort it. How often it's updated, though, is up to how much of the internet cares: (

...of PS3-exclusive must-haves, from titles that I own, a lot of repeats from the other lists in the thread:
* Uncharted.
* Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (hasn't come out, but all reviews are -LOVING- it).
* Resistance: Fall Of Man.
* Resistance 2 (if only for the co-op and mp gaming, sp was a dissapointment from most sides, alas).
* LittleBigPlanet.
* MGS 4 (though if Microsoft truly has it's way, dunno how long will it remain exclusive...).
* InFAMOUS.
* Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools Of Destruction.
* Killzone 2.
Shame only the 60Gig PS3 has backwards compatibility (yay me!), 'coz then I'd make an even BIGGER list of PS2 must-haves :D

Anyone who loves MGS would have gone and gotten a ps3 or atleast hired one from a video store to play MGS4 by this point either way.

depending on where in the world you are... in North America it was the 80 gig versions..
truth is that by now unless you buy one used for an exhorbitant and inflated price on ebay, none of the new consoles are ps2 compatible.
