Since "fatalis" is the adjectival genetive of "fatum" it can mean either "of fate" or "deadly" depending on context. Since "arx" means "citadel" or "fortress" the phrase "Arx Fatalis" may mean "Fortress of Fate" or even "Deadly Citadel".

cool. October's not too far off. Hopefully I'll be able to go to E3 in May and I might see a working build of it there.
While Fortress of Fate has a nice ring to it I like Deadly Citadel more.

I think the word "DOOM" is exactly at the junction of "fate" and "deadly"... So we could translate it as the "Citadel of Doom"...
