Multiplayer servers is understandable but downloadable content is a pisstake.
This is my only REAL concern. Save for Halo 2, Rainbow Six 3, and Star Wars Battlefront 1 &2, the servers are dead for multiplayer.
Just let me access my shit, and preferably for free.

Damn it. Guess I better sign up for a month so I can get all of the patches I need. I wish they'd at least let you use free accounts until it dies.

And this is why I avoid games that require me to connect to a corporate server in order to play (hello MMOGs!), install, or do anything else. It would put me in the position of being screwed when the company decides to shut down their servers.

There's a difference between a service that has a few games that can be counted on your fingers, that has already been superseded by a superior service and games, and (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steam_%28content_delivery%29) a service that has over 25 million active accounts and over a thousand games on there.
If internet lost popularity I'm quite sure it would shut down too.

probably means there's a new version of the xbox comming out around the corner, and to make sure you buy it, they close the one they dont want you to use anymore.

I thought I was the only guy left with the 'ol Big Black BoX. heh. But I've never even loaded up Live...
Most of the Halo tards seemed to move to the 'latest greatest' 360 immediately. You know, where the most shiny is available to please their brains.

I happen to have two Xboxes, though I haven't been on Live in a while.
Why? I still haven't managed to replace the cable in my Steel Battalion controller, so Line of Contact is out. Nobody plays the other games I have on Live...well, except for Halo 2, but that's a game I want to sell off and at least get back some of the money I wasted on it.
I was going to cancel my Live subscription anyway, seeing as Games for Windows Live gets everything for free now, and this just reaffirms my decision. Any future online play will be through Xlink Kai, I'm sure.
As for the DLC? There may be ways around that, if at least one person with a softmodded Xbox has the content already.
