Hi to all members of the Forum,
now that the latest contest has been completed, we can look back at so many missions, which have given all players so much enjoyment.
Since the beginning of the Game, so many contests have been held, and more will be following, lucky for us players.:)
Thus far, we have had:
Contest 1 (64 cube)
Contest 2
Contest 3
Contest 4
Contest 5
Contest 6 (TDS)
Contest 7 (TDS) - (canceled)
And we also have had contests with a special theme or label:
The Glyph of Hammer and Trowel (Polish contest)
T2 Beauty Contest
T2 Novice Contest
Yandros' Small Stock Resource Contest
Water Contest
Dromed Crap Contest
Masters of Horror Contest
Hammer Contest - (canceled)
Classic Thief Experience Contest
and two more that will be coming:
Iceblade's Pirate-themed contest
10th Anniversary contest (64 cube)
Thus far, we have had sixteen contests with submissions. So, if there is another contest down the road, without a special theme, will it be Contest 8, etc ...? Even if a contest had only one submission winning by default, we should still count it as a contest.
Just some thoughts. Apologies if a contest is missing from the above list. I am not inlcuding the Glyph of Knowledge and Glyph of Sight, as they did not involve mission playing.
Happy taffing to all,
Best,
AndrewPhD

What about a "vertical" contest?

Thanks Digital Nighfall and Clearing,
I looked at the links Digital Nightfall mentioned. The two missions from the 2000 contest were Waterlogged and The Bath House. I have played them both a very long time ago, but I do not recall them being part of a contest. I looked at their text files for description, but no contest is mentioned.
As for the French Historical Contest, now that Digital Nightfall mentions it, I had read some months ago about it. I went to the link, but there was no mention of any missions submitted, only directions. So it must have fallen apart. If there are no submissions, then it could be ok to lieave it out of the list, I guess. I included only contests with missions submitted.
As for Clearing's comment, is there a vertical contest already out? OMG, I am missing missions!? But it is a great suggestion!!

(I was kidding about the fear of missing missions)

Hi again,
I went back and search The Circle Archives. It was called The Trial Contest, and there were four entries:
The Bath House
Waterlogged
Stowaway
A Grand Opening
Finial won with Stowaway, a great mission, which I have played. It was a rare daytime mission located in an North African Mediterranean seaport.

Which I believe also fell apart... ?
It did. However, a few french taffers worked on missions for this contest, but never finished them. Maybe they'll be released later, who knows...
Might be good to include it to the list, for the record. :p
Furthermore, I think it's the only french contest ever launched.

It's bad luck that it coincided with uncadonego's contest. Maybe they will try again? Or at least the missions may be completed & released at a future date.

Hi all,
in searching for the early 2000 contest that Digital Nighfall pointed to, as I posted above, I found there was a mission called A Grand Opening.
It was an incomplete mission, but was praised for its room design.
I have looked around several websites but cannot seem to find it. Has it been removed?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks,
AndrewPhD
