So... the boat, huh? - by lousyliar

I'm at the docks, and after having a lot of fun with slipping guards, I'm apparently supposed to take the boat to the Captain's house. How the hell do I use it? After getting out of the ship, a glyph appeared in front of it, (unless that's not the right boat) but what am I supposed to do next. And also, how do I use the climbing gloves?

Go up to the row-boat with the glyph and access it exactly like you would any other mission - usually Right-Clicking.
Climbing gloves, they can be tricky. Move over to a wall and press Space when you are right beside it. You either end up jumping or climbing onto the wall. Best to give it a little practise in a quiet area.

Do not try to jump into the boat, if you fall into the water you will drown.

Thanks. But you may want to be more specific next time, my controls are set up differently. :D

Oh, you can jump on the boat just fine. An unfortunate guard even jumped on it from the other side, breaking his neck in the process (of course he had some help from my oil flasks) :D, but it's not gonna do anything. I thought going through the glyph would activate it, but it didn't.

Hmm. Whats the button you use to activate stuff then? Like steal stuff, pickpocket, open doors, switch levers... Cos if you go up to the glyph and use that button, that should be it.

Well, I have Use Item set on NumPad0 and Interact set on Enter. Neither worked, and neither did simply pressing against the glyph, that's why I posted here. But I managed to get over it eventually.

I've already completed the Widow's Mansion :(
Oh how I wish I could hop back on that lil' rowboat and go exploring on my own...
^Now there's an idea for Thief IV
