Albert: It can only help to have the original source code or it's parts. If whole source code would be revived, it would be preferable to the rewrite as it would mean 100% compatibility from the start :)

What's holding people back is not knowing how the engine was made and having to figure it all out in ways that may be very different but seem the same to the user. There aren't a lot of people working on OpenDarkEngine ( :sly: ).

True ( :( ) It is quite time consuming to work on it, not everyone is willing to invest their time (plus most of the people probably still think it's insane/not possible to finish, can't blame them really). Any piece of original source code will help.
