I rarely play on our WiiU, but there are definitely some games on it (as well as Wii games) that I've found well worth playing, e.g. Wind Waker HD (my first Zelda game played from beginning to end) and obviously the Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Great trailer, positive feedback, more than 10 millions views on yt in 12h. Fantastic idea in combination portable/stationary hardware. I'm in.

Looks uncomfortable to hold.

Cool idea, although I'm not much of a mobile gamer (I like my couch), so I'm not really going to reap many benefits from it. Still, have to wonder, is this just going to be another under powered Nintendo console? I mean, the trailer shows a guy playing Skyrim. That's great if it's 2012, not 2017. I suppose it's OK for just Mario and maybe some Metroid.
I still love my Wii U and have a large backlog of stuff on there to play, so I think I'd probably wait on the Switch and see what the game catalog looks like. New Zelda will be playable on the Wii U so no need to rush into anything.
Speaking of the new Zelda, the new trailers looks great:

I strongly suspect this is the console that will kill Nintendo as we know it.
Had they come out with this a gen back I could see it being fresh and an xmas hit, but now they're going to have to compete with VR. I think kids will rather pick up the latter.

VR isn't going to have near as much traction as a base home console - for the most part, because mainstream VR for consoles is an add-on peripheral to the home console. It may be ironic that one's all about staying in and removing yourself from (physical) society, and the other's all about having options if you want to get out and about, but it's not the same business model.
Having said that, I don't think Next's Switch's competition is the PS4/Pro/Scorpio. They're clearly trying to appeal to people who're into play on the go gaming, like the entire DS/mobile gaming demographic.

The controllers look very uncomfortable for adult hands
I was thinking that too. Shouldn't be an issue at home where you can use a different controller, or when you take it on a bus for a quick session. Kinda sucks for the play-with-friends-at-a-park situation though.

They also have the Virtual Console, where you can buy older games (NES, SNES, N64, GC, and Wii) digitally and play them on the Wii U. One of the main reasons I bought one.
Oh ya! I was thinking of getting some NES/SNES classic re-releases on my droid phone, so this would be perfect for that.

Probably, but aren't all Nintendo consoles underpowered? They're not competing in the high-end-graphics though, they're going more for gameplay and style, which I don't think is a bad approach.
Also, wasn't there a brief few shots of Witcher in the trailer? Or something akin to that.

I'm not saying that the Switch has to be as cutting edge as a PS4/Xbox1, but if the machine specs are too weak, they're not going to get much third party support. And lack of third party support is kind of what killed the Wii U. They can't survive solely on Mario/Zelda/Pokemon.
I don't remember seeing The Witcher in there, but Skyrim was.

Think of how 3rd parties dealt with the DS. They didn't treat it like another console to port games to, rather they released an entirely different set of exclusive games for it. I have a feeling they'll do the same thing for the Switch.

I think that just underscores what Brethren said. If I can make one game and release it on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, but I have to make another game entirely to release on the Switch, well... I could just make a second game for the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
