Attention Thiefgen members.
I've gone and done it. There is a thread in Forums & TTLG Website Network, discussing some issues with TTLG, and I've addressed an issue that's been rotting away for some time now.
Would you like somewhere else on the forums to chat about non-Thief related topics that isn't crawling with flamewars and trolls? Some of you may not care, but others of you might. If you do, Go say so in this thread:(

If you don't care to browse the whole thread, here is the link to my post, which pretty much sums up the thread until then:(

Yeah. I've been hoping for a Thief-fan off-topic forum for a couple of years now.

Go say so in the thread then :) Seriously. Now that the issue has been broached is likely the best/only chance you will get to state your consensus of it.

Oh, I and others have mentioned it a few times here and in the Fan Missions forum, and I know the admins have seen it. ;)
And they'll see this thread, too.:thumb:

I'm going to nip this in the bud, but there will not be a second off-topic forum.

OK, fearless leader.
Seriously, I think the best thing that could benefit the community is something revitalizing. Like, say, the source code for the dark engine? Yeah, I'm no genius, but the fact that it's so damn hard to play Thief on new PCs, is the sole reason for why the community is dying. Sad to say, but it is true. However, it's also a reversible fate.
So, either someone magically pulls the code from their ass, or OPDE actually gets finished.
(I'm voting the latter, honestly. Most game simulating engines I know of, save for Scummvm, have made very little progress in contrast to OPDE)
So yeah, people can complain about the forums dying, but thats no problem but theirs, whether it's intentional or not.

I think some sections of the community are in some serious decay, but at least the FM and Editing sections are still pretty lively.:thumb:

Not really, they are just adding some spice, not the first time, won't be the last. They bitch because they do care, its just that way.
