Some key points:- Retaining leaning, first person view always and mod support - by EvaUnit02

Please don't abandon leaning just to accodomate console gamepad controls that have a limited set of buttons.
Something along the lines of the Riddick games where you have a lean modifier button would work well for the console versions, but please do retain dedicated left and right leaning keys for the PC version.
Also please give us the option of staying permanently in first person view. I don't want to be forced into using a 3rd person cover system at any time.
Another important point is mod or user-created level support. It's vital that a SDK or level editor be released. As you know, the Thief community is highly driven by user-created content.
Thanks in advance.

I like forward leaning to look over the edges of roofs and into chests, and since it's not the Dark Engine, we don't have to worry about the forward lean blackjacking exploit.
Lean that doesn't move the feet.
Yes. Lock-in that first-person view, please. Having the camera slide in and out if Garrett's hollow skull is annoying.

I agree, leaning is entirely possible on consoles and crucial for any thief game.
What about this key point: Minimalism - please keep the game minimalistic in features, please concentrate on the core features so that those are clean and polished.

Yes.
And I forgot to comment on modding: Yes. If possible, an accessible means of customising and personalising and building FMs with.

Another one that is common amongst modern console games is that they literally spell out every context-sensitive command. Eg You walk towards a ledge, large font text will pop on the screen saying "PRESS [F] TO MANTLE". You walk over some ammo and it'll say "PRESS [F] TO PICK UP ARROWS".
Please don't do this in Thief 4, it's a massive immersion breaker. Thoroughly immersive atmosphere has always been one of the draws of the Thief series.

Or leave it as an option for rookies.

Not the production-time-consuming rookie monsters!
