Just for fun, I decided to do a quick test with an old T2 brick texture.
I didn't improve the quality for this test, just increased the size and created a normal map for it.
Anyway, here is a screen shot...just for giggles. Never made a normal map before..so I don't know how successful I was.

@ New Horizon not bad - however i think, the texture won't look as nice, when the view is more closer. but, it would be nice, just for fun to build thief 3 with the old textures, I'll try it :cheeky:

those old brick textures look amazing; maybe a bit overdone on the normal mapping side, but still it gives a lot of atmosphere; let's hope there will be an editor soon, cause i love to play new levels that look like this; i want to play in good old dark mansions again...

It's hard to tell. Did you do the wall texture or the floor texture? The wall seems to work OK next to the light, but the floor is too far away from the source to really see how the shadows fall across it.

Yeah, it's the floor texture. :) Didn't do a very good job of it, just a quickie.

The floor looks great, it really does, I just can't see the normal mapping very clearly because of the relative position of the lighting, that's all. :thumb:

Here is another pic. I stuck the same texture on the wall behind the guard.
Didn't repaint it, just resized it for the test.
