something that I liked in DX... - by this box

I got this idea when looking through some thread in the SS forums about what game somebody should play after beating SS2...
I was thinking about the graphics and style in DX, and I realised that it had a very good post-Apocalyptic, world-in-despair feeling to it. The way alot of the characters are dirty and look like bums, the market in Hong Kong, the overall palette of colors and how they are all grey and dull. It feels very realistic in a cold and saddening way, i think.
Hmm, for an actual example, it was done a few times, but not too much: The way tiny pieces of paper and debris get scattered about the grounds by the wind.

Huh? Why not?
You're right, anyway. But IMO people playing DX noticed this already, and everyone else doesn't care. ;)

It's more a given, our acceptance of the brilliance of Deus Ex.

I'm mystified as to how anyone could take a stroll in Hong Kong, and conclude that there is a problem with the "palette of colors" and think that everything is "grey and dull." I suggest that you may have a hardware/software problem, because there's no lack of color in HK.

Wes2, he didn't "have a problem with the 'palette of colors'", he was saying that he liked the effect he was describing. You've esstentially told him that the aspect of the game that he is praising is an error. He's not saying that everything in Hong Kong is literally a shade of gray, but that Hong Kong is a dark and dreary urban-decay type of environment, which he felt suited the game.

I don't think he has a problem with the pallete of colors. I think he was mentioning how all the textures in the game were grimy and seemed dirty and nothing really sparkles....even hong kong with all its colors has a grimy feeling to it. It definetly suits the game though.

The colour is dark and grey, even in HK its like a front of colour covering the darkness, like VersaLife in the plot
