http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=143656) The Terry Pratchett Q&A on Computer and Video Games talks with the famed fantasy author about computer games like Oblivion: "I'm a thief and an assassin, and treat the game as a continuation of the Thief universe. I'm in it for the sneaking, but I like the free form nature of the game, the fact that you can ignore the quests and set off into this big, complex world. You really can explore. All the best moments have been in the shadows. Pick pockets, open locks, creep away."

What have been your favourite games of the past few years?
"Far Cry, Call Of Duty, Half-Life 2 and a great many fan missions for Thief! A good fan mission is a joy, because the author reads your mind."

Terence David John Pratchett OBE is an English fantasy author (born April 28, 1948, in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, England), best known for his Discworld series. As of March 2005 he has sold approximately 40 million books worldwide. He is also generally regarded as one of the finest satirists currently writing in the English language, and has been compared to such diverse figures as Douglas Adams, Jonathan Swift, Charles Dickens, Lewis Carroll, Evelyn Waugh and P. G. Wodehouse.
[It's almost like there's some sort of "online encyclopedia" where you can easily find this shit out]

So I take it this is from Wikipedia? (can't be arsed to look) If so it just shows what is wrong with Wikis - people can write tosh on them. Pratchett is just writes immature Douglas Adams rip-offs set in a fantasy world which were funny when you were 14 and hadn't really read all that much or developed a proper sense of humour but which are in actual fact tedious rehashes of the same ol' same ol' (predictable) jokes. In short, he sucks.

Cool, I like Pratchett. First Discworld novel I read was "Thief of Time". :cheeky:
SubEff, why do you think he's ripping off Adams?
