I got it bundled with my 8800 GT a couple years ago. And I didn't get to playing it because I remember having to download all the patches in sucession and there were like 10 of them, and they werent small.
If you can find a consolidated update, I think you'll be happy.
that's the beauty of getting it on Steam. Prepatched and ready to go. Plus it was $2.

FYI, you only need to install Tales of Valour. It contains all of the content from vanilla CoH and OF, you only need to input your CD keys to unlock and be able to play those titles' SP campaigns.

I've been played THE FUCK out of these games. Probably in my top 5. The learning curve was insane (IMO) at first, but I can't get sick of them. Probably going to grab the Steam version as my store-bought won't patch properly for muiti-player.

I am slowly getting the hang of this. It is honestly the first RTS game I have liked in the least, and I REALLY like it. I think the WWII setting helps a lot. I don't have to learn the way the world works, like in a fantasy/sci-fi RTS.

I'll have to install it again. I'd definitely be up for some TTLG 2v2 or 3v3 or whatever. Does anyone know if I can provide steam with a retail CD key it will install it through the steam client?
*edit*
Looked it up, no dice apparently. Ah well, I guess I can brave the patching nightmare once more.

It's strange because the mechanics are so similar to Dawn of War, I just don't enjoy that particular setting so the whole game falls down for me. CoH's setting is fantastic and the campaign was really well thought-out. It may give you an idea of what to expect from multiplayer, but in terms of balance it is a bit of a shock transition from SP to MP. Like anything I guess
We should definitely have some TTLG CoH games. I think I have you on Steam already SubjEff and a few others. I'm on there with a not-very PC steam name

That's pretty much my exact response to CoH, minus the Dawn of War sentiment. (I like WH40K.) Company of Heroes appeals to me more because it's a setting and rules I understand.
I've yet to actually sit down and play it for any length of time. As soon as Redneck Rampage is done, however...
