Ok, for some crazy ass reason, I'm having a hell of a time in the last level of T2, specifically the 2nd floor. Some of the beacon towers have gates that I can't find the switches for, though that's not my biggest problem. Some of the beacons are guarded a bit heavily. The first floor was simple. It's just a matter of being aware of the patrols. However, the second floor has some areas that I just can't see a way around. For example, there is this one room filled with masks that shoot bombs, arrows, blades, etc. and a gated door to a beacon tower that I can't find a switch to. There's not enough shadows to sneak through the room, and I get minced if I try to run it. I did find the catwalks above, but found nothing to help me. Can anyone offer some tips for this last level? Thanks.

First it would help if we knew which beacons you actually got.
Next: The Turret room is the hardest of all of the beacons. You DO NOT NEED THIS ONE. You can satisfy the mission without it.
If you look at the map, all the beacons have # and locations you pass through mostly have names. All this would help us help you.
As for the switch to the gate for the turret room, it is in a small tunnel you reach from the catwalks. If you insist in trying this particular room, go to the left as you enter. Explore what you find at the top levels of the room thoroughly.
The other tough one is the one off the "Power room" on the first floor. Even avoiding the Warbots, it is a tricky one to get at. The rest are fairly easy.

That's the hardest one of them to get to :( , and once you've gotten there you've got to get back out again :eww:. Last time I tried to get to it (well I did, but I couldn't get back though) I thought it was impossible and gave up. I remember that there was a switch on the roof above that door. You could get up there by those catwalks and a few ladders. But as you don't have to get them all (even on expert) I'd recommend you skip it. If you don't want a challenge that is :thumb:.

First, my maps don't have numbers or names. There are just six little pictures of turrets with arrows pointing on the map. This isn't a whole lot of help because I still have to skulk around everywhere to find a seventh.
Also, do I have to turn the towers back to B after I do the thing with the beacon? I think they need to be set on A so Karras can give instructions, I don't want to go back through all of this. I think my time on the mission so far is 4 hours. It took me two and a half just to get the signal beacon (I've had to wait a hell of a lot for breaks in patrols, not to mention I made myself a bunch of mines and scouting orbs for extra insurance).
Not that I'm whining, as the game has been easy up to this point, but this is less of a mission for Garrett and more of a mission for Duke Nukem. :ebil:
Also, I only have like 3 vine arrows left. I left a some behind because I figured I couldn't use them all up, but I'm starting to get a little nervous as I've had to use 2 of them on the 2nd floor just for one beacon, and I don't think I can salvage them. I'd rather not go back to the first floor if I don't have to, I just kind of want to be done this mission at this point. Should I worry about the vine arrows though?

No, that won't be necessary. Just get back out of there to where you started and the mission will end.

That shouldn't be a problem as long as you have at least one left.

You need (MUST) reset the beacons to match the ID of the one you install. If Karras' beacon is in A (which it is) you must set 5 of the 8 beacons to B to match the signal of the one you installed.
This is very clear in the Objectives.
To install a sending unit in B and leave the code set on A is a useless endeavor. Think about it. :D

I understand that, but I wasn't completely sure what is the criteria for completing the mission without getting caught. I wasn't sure if this was one of the things that Karras would notice.
Also, I'm not sure if it's a difficulty thing, but I'm playing on expert and have to switch 7 of 8 of the beacons.
Another thing, does it matter if I put the guidance module things in the signal tower before or after I switch the beacons? I figure that the guidance thing is on the third floor somewhere, and I haven't come across it yet, so I figured I'd do it when I get to it.

On expert <s>I think it is 6 and not 7</s> you are right. Go for the one in the master control room, instead of the Turret room. It's a little less dangerous.
With some fancy maneuvaring you can avoid getting blasted by the Warbots. The Turret room is sure to get you fried 9 out of 10 times. :D
As for when you make the switch, many do it before they get the Beacon sender installed.
The layout is such that many find the beacon towers while looking for a way into the room where the sender socket is.
I've done it both ways.

Well, I ended up doing the turret room. I didn't know there'd be a tower in the guiding beacon room (which I ended up finding last). So I ended up having to figure out a way to do the turret room. I am SO happy that I went through the bother to make all those extra mines, they came in really really really handy. The mines go off pretty much automatically if you set it near the turret, all you need is to be a decent shot. Though for a couple, all you have to do is drop the mine off the catwalk. Also there is that one turret that was under a crusher for some dumb reason. I got a real satisfying crunch when I hit the button for it with a broadhead. :cheeky:

No use creating a new thread for this question: I can't complete Soulforge because there is a gate blocking access to the guiding beacon room and I can't find the lever which opens it. How do I get through there?
