I think there should be a more varied soundtrack. There's always this idea that techno music should go with scifi, but in some places (Hong Kong) the music just ends up sounding retro. Too much of the Deus Ex music sounds like it's been made on a synthesizer. I think there should be some orchestrated pieces in Deus Ex, to give it a much more epic feel.
What do you guys reckon?

The dynamic music was made with a special sound file format that defines the sounds and then the score--it saves space that way but also forces you to into a model that makes it more difficult to remove the synthesizer-like quality of the music. The soundtrack should be more sparse to make up for this effect...

Noodles,I totally agree with you <IMG SRC="thumb.gif" border="0">
Most of the time the music did not fit the game. The only
exception being the abandoned subbase.
Some orchestral and more "ambient" music should really be a
good idea. Starwars, Total Annihilation, the Dig and Homeworld
had orchestral music and that sounded great! So why not try it
with Deus ex? Al that electric stuf just sounds crap.

I think in places like clubs the music was annoyingly similar to the rest of the game. So when someone says "great music, huh?" in one of the clubs i'm like, "i've only been hearing it for the past ten hours i've been playing." I think they should have like metal music in the clubs, and a band would be kickass too.
