But am I crazy or do those textures look a little...rough?
Care about your console brothers more.
How does SC3 compare to 1? Is it more open?

The game might be cool - but whoever thought it made for good marketing if you have shots of the developers saying, "This is the coolest thing I've ever seen!"?

I've got mixed feelings about this one. On one hand, there's some great ideas in these videos, on the other, combat galore. So is it a stealth game or an action game with bits of stealth? I have no clue. It looks fun, but it doesn't look like a stealth game really. I guess it just is what it is and I'm not going to try to compare it with other games.

I think that's probably sensible. To be honest, while I liked Chaos Theory a lot, I don't think the formula would have sustained many more sequels without shaking things up. Yes, I'd like more stealth games, but not necessarily more Splinter Cells with exactly the same setup.

I am excited. Looks really fun, and I love the 'writing on the wall' hint system. Tagging enemies is a nice idea, as well, and I can't wait to try it out for myself. Otoh, Double Agent (last gen) was my fave SC game, and I'll miss its game play.

I hated Double Agent not for the timed parts but because they ripped out the sound and shadow meters. So now I'm hidden or not hidden and I have no idea if they can hear me or not. It was a giant step backward. And maybe I'm imagining things, but it seemed hard to judge whether a lot of shadows would hide you or not. Maybe I'll give it another shot sometime.

You played the next-gen/PC version, huh? It is a completely different game from the last-gen version.

Yeah, last-gen features dowdy old Airwaves in
pellet form, whereas next-gen blows your mind and sinuses with all new Airwaves gel strips for that minty-fresh stealth feeling...
