The book
seems to regularly hint at a large (as in 100+) pack of wolves roaming the area around the trident with a giant dire wolf at its head, so perhaps that might be picked back up later on.
Arya still semi-regularly wargs to Nymeria in her dreams, too. Even from Braavos.

Well watching this in bed just before going to sleep was a bad idea.

Well holy fucking shit.

I think it's weird that this catches people so off-guard. What, were you not paying attention to the rest of the series? :p

Yeah, I think we're all well acquainted with the fact that the show is pretty violent, along with the fact that no one's safe, and any character can die at anytime.
And yeah, we were all expecting some trouble with the Frays for a good long while now.
But what I just saw? No one was expecting that. It was brutal even by the show's already brutal standards.

Yeah it's three characters at once, and pretty much the end of one of the major factions. (there are still Stark kids around but I don't see any of them leading an army in the near future).

I've read the books and I was still nearly knocked off my chair by the brutality of it.
Just the sheer cruelty of it. Especially Roose Bolton taunting Catelyn right before it kicks off. It's the only time in the whole program where he's looked happy about anything.
