So what the frak is up with these E10 spoilers?

I think the impact is, more or less, because these two were the ones who I felt the most sympathy for: the show spends enough time humanising them and giving them the qualities of main characters, so that even if some of their decisions were flawed, they were the most decent and straightforward characters in the show. You rooted for them because they were fighting to right all the wrongs done to them, and even seemed to have a chance of doing it, when the rest of the family was powerless or running or hiding.
Ironically, I think that's what left me largely cold towards Robb - the fact that he was one of the nicest, most likeable and relatable characters in the series. It's just that following him often felt a bit like "been there, done that." A young man going through a tough formative experience, trying fill his father's shoes, right wrongs, caught between honour and pragmatism, duty and love etc. There was little challenging about his character so - with me, at least - he didn't leave a strong impression. And, given this show's history, the surprise of the Red Wedding became limited to the fact that they'd taken out one of the major players in the overall conflict, not that bad things happened to nice people. Felt sorry for 'em, but at the same time I was too busy to be amazed at the massive plot twist.
By comparison, I find that some of the other, conventionally far less palatable fauna make for more interesting drama. I love Tywin, as a ruthless, scheming and utilitarian powerhouse, though I imagine he'd be poor company over a pint, to say the least. And characters I'm less fond of too, like that self-righteous psychopath, Danaerys, I still think generate more interest in their stories. Robb and Talisa were nice, decent people, and you could only see them end up either dead or significantly warped further down the line.
