Okay, okay. I do believe I'm going to go choke on some meatballs, because the site's managed to make a convert out of me.
The latest site update makes a convincing argument of the higher powers behind it, and I do believe I can't refute something which goes (

It's the most powerful thing on the intarnet, guyz. You might as well just give up and give into it.

Is it sad that I knew what it was by the youtube video code in the URL?
... then clicked it anyway and listened to the whole song?
[edit] And wow, I guess you can fake stupid after all... pretty elaborate prank.

I thought about who would get a domain-name like this right after release and it having the whiff of semi-official viral publicity, then I got distracted and didn't post it.
The Rickroll was inspired, though. Perfect set-up over the week and great delivery. That deserves some applause.

I must admit that I found the free creature creator to be much more fun than the actual game itself. Although a lot of people have been hanging out for this game for some time, I was never overly hyped by the game; just fairly interested in it and, ultimately, just purchased it on a whim. It has proven to be a game that I have enjoyed in very small doses and have gone back to playing it mostly for the reason that I spent money on it. I'm currently at the Civ stage and am struggling to persevere with it.

This game is the best. No arguments, it is just THE BEST.
Seriously, it's eatin' mah life :D
So far the only bit i didn't enjoy was the tribal stage, but before and after that were/are epic. Also, space stage win. Myy god does it kick ass!

EA has decided to ban people from playing their legitimate copies of spore if they discuss the DRM.
Quote:
SecuROM as been discussed and discussed so much and it causes arguments in threads. If you want to talk about DRM SecuROM then please use another fansite forum. If there is any change you will be able to read it on the official Spore site.
Please do not continue to post theses thread or you account may be at risk of banning which in some cases would mean you would need to buy a new copy to play Spore.

Classy.

That's fucked up. And probably would have been avoided (slightly) if they'd stickied a thread that clearly explained exactly how the install limit works (i.e. You install Spore, you boot it for the first time, the game checks if a certain registry entry is present in the system registry, if the entry is present, the game loads normally, if the entry is not present, the game calls the SecuROM server, removes an activation, and creates the registry entry. The act of uninstalling the game does not remove the registry entry, so you can uninstall and reinstall as many times as you like provided you haven't reinstalled Windows, or wiped your registry in some way), as opposed to hiding it in a FAQ and not directly addressing the 'ONLY THREE INSTALLS, NO MATTER WHAT' myth.
