Hmm, interesting... That page on mission stuff actually sounds encouraging. (Like they actually care about what they develop.)

I would say," Let's wait and see".If Thief4 is garbage then we don't have to purchase it.Our community still has loads of FM builders that rank right up there with the best.

Yep. I'm fully expecting to see what the players who buy it immediately, preorder it, and purchase it in the first month all say, and I'll pay close attention to the screenshots and gameplay videos before I even consider giving EM money--especially if there's a no-refund policy for opening the package. If I don't like what I see or hear, then I want to make sure EM doesn't ever get a penny from me. Of course, the opposite is also true. If I like what I see and hear well enough, I'll gladly reward EM with my money--even though I probably will still not have a computer that can play it--and no, I won't buy a new system just to play it.

I know if I sent Square-Enix an email, I probably wouldn't get a reply. But if everyone on this site does, maybe they'll listen to us.
I think we should all send them an e-mail, telling them that they should "play by our rules" if they want good reviews and sales figures.
Here are some things that I feel should be demanded in these e-mails:
1: Use DromEd to make missions.
2: Realistic characters instead of anime.
3: Have Stephen Russel play Garrett.
4: Continue the theme that was present in the Thief series (ambiance, noises, creatures, and factions).
5: Keep the various arrow types, the blackjack, the items, and the sword (don't make the sword too big).
6: Keep the visibility gem.
7: Bring Benny and the other voice actors to Thief 4.
Any flaws? (no flaming)

I think you're going to need to take some hostages before anyone agrees to #1.

Because as was proven by MW2, there is nothing as descructive as righteous nerd rage.

That's absolutely ridiculous.

are they saying that they are phasing out single player games,
That's sort of the vibe I'm getting from that dissapointingly short article. And if so, that's ridiculous for two reasons. Some people will never enjoy multiplayer, and second, that would be taking away all the good story-making priorities of games D:
But, that's assuming that is what he meant.
