The jacket will be made entirely out of belts.
Are you fucking kidding me?
No. I'm really, really not. The HR person there (at that time) had no knowledge of DromEd, TTLG, T2X, or anything remotely related LGS. C'mon guys - it's been how many years? The vision for the game is a third generation carbon copy at this point. If Warren and Ion Storm couldn't adapt it to a new game, how in the world is Eidos going to get it right when they're only relationship to LGS is a publishing deal that dissolved years ago? There's not a single person at Eidos Montreal that's had any involvement in the past games - not even T3. For starters, it's in Montreal - ever been to Montreal? If you don't speak French, it's very, very, very, very, very hard to get by, much less work in an environment where you're lucky if 50% of the folks are bi-lingual (as I was told was the case). How many ex-LGSers, or Ion Storm folks for that matter, are going to learn French and move to Montreal?
I think you can see what I'm getting at here...

From there:

In the announcement of the offer, the Tomb Raider,
Deus Ex, Hitman,
Thief, Championship Manager, and Just Cause franchises were called out as being among "the world's leading video game properties."
Probably doesn't mean jack, but it seems like they did go out of their way to mention both Thief and Deus Ex, which at least leads you to believe the next installments won't get dropped. What the games will end up looking like though is anyone's guess.

I'm still astonished that Thief is considered a leading franchise. Well, if they say so, I guess I can be happy about it. Thanks for the pull-quote, Brethren.

Thief 4? Are you kidding? I'm still waiting for Thief 3.
:laff: :laff: :laff:
I can't help but wonder how the hardcore Thief fans felt when LGS was taken over by IS and again when IS was snapped up by Eidos? (Personally, I didn't pay much attention back then.) I think I'm beginning to see a pattern here though. :weird:
Frankly as much as I would dearly love to see a T4, I never had any real hopes that it would happen. Especially not after the T3 debacle. And now with this additional bad news, I rather hope the guys at Square Enix just leave Thief the hell alone.

why should Square Enix publishing have anything to do with how the game design is handled? Unless everyone bitching about emo haircuts and buckles in this thread is being sarcastic...
Whether they fuck it up or not, it's not like they're going to turn T4 into a JRPG. Who would they sell it to?

You're right. However, I've always wondered who did Eidos want to sell TDS and DX:IW to.
