It looks as though Thief Gold will hit GOG.com on Thursday. A new publisher has been announced, believed to be one of the "big five", of which EA was the first, (LucasArts, Microsoft, Square Enix and TakeTwo). The hints on Twitter speak of "knows how to stay unnoticed", Facebook speaks of one who "'works' for a big company". These would
seem to indicate Garrett and Agent 47 from Hitman, both Squeenix properties.
The clincher is this image a friend of mine from the GOG IRC made:

In order of appearance: Thief Gold cover, pixellated cover, GOG teaser image.
Sure as hell sounds like Thief Gold to me.

False advertisement. Garrett is no hero.

It is a big deal if it came with the source as suggested in the petition thread. Has GOG done that with any properties before?

GOG certainly has had source code access to other games before, they generally do not disclose which ones, though.
I wouldn't be surprised if they had source code access to Thief.

And why does anyone think that GOG will have the permission to release the source code? Or was that not the point of this discussion?
I guess if they do get access they could fix the Windows XP/Vista/7 issues that have plagued Thief for years that DDFix has well fixed. That would be nice.

Judging by the latest twitter clue (Hero 2 might be a cold blooded-killer, but he's a sharp dresser. ) I don't think there's any way it's going to be Thief franchise, more then likely Hitman.

Yeah.. Garrett is no hero or killer. =_=
Asides, the problems these gamers face like installation problems, resolution fixes & ddfix, they've all brought them here to discover this game still has a community.

Two games are being announced from two different franchises. One is most certainly Hitman. The other is possibly Thief.
Either way, the publisher is definitely Eidos, so even if Thief doesn't happen tonight, I suspect it will eventually.
EDIT: Actually, it looks like the other will be Deus Ex.

Well Deus Ex and Hitman were released, it's definitely Square Enix.
I think it's fairly certain that Thief will be released soon, considering that the cover was on the GOG frontpage, as demonstrated in the first post.
