If the final product is at least as good as the demo, then this is very exciting, indeed! :D
That being said, how do you use Grenades and Batteries? I tried everything, to no avail.

I don't think grenades and batteries are implemented yet.
The stretch goals kind of make me not want to back it for fear that they might reach $1.4m.

Well, I've played the demo and I'm cautiously excited to see what they do with the game. I actually still love and regularly replay the original (with the mouse-look tweaks) and SS2 of course. The fact that Nightdive is prepared to put their (and our) money and time into this tells me that they care about the content.
Basically I'm happy that System Shock is getting a much needed PR kick, albeit 22 years late. :)

Well... I backed it. This one I really hope succeeds as everything I have seen so far looks absolutely amazing.

I hear you. I wrote to the developers to find out more about it, because I do think it would turn System Shock into a radically different game.

As I said in the other thread (which we should merge into this one really) it looks like they want to turn SS1 into how SS2 was. I'm not a fan at all of them doing that, but I'll still give it a go.

Yes, they should be merged.

As a purist, from an isolated perspective, I know what you mean...yet, it could possibly establish a nice mechanical congruity to the series, as a whole.

Is anyone from the TTLG community involved in this? I'm curious if this has any implications for a remade SS2. Are there legal distinctions between SS1 and 2? I assumed the planned SS3 would cause IP issues for remakes but clearly it is not an issue for this one.
icemann on 29/6/2016 at 05:22
They better not remake SS2. Perfectly fine as, once you mod it up a bit.
Starker on 29/6/2016 at 05:29
SS2 remake has been mentioned as a possibility if this one is a success. It will likely be done by Night Dive who owns the System Shock trademark. SS3 is being done by Otherside who has the rights for the IP and use of the trademark through partnership with Night Dive.
