Just passed $900k! Given how it garnered more than $300k in the first 24 hours I think it was obvious it was going to hit its funding goal pretty quickly, but this is still great news! Now it's just a question of which stretch goals it hits.

Good to see the project is funded! I was refreshing the page daily. :)

The $1.3m stretch goal has been reached! Safe! So, we're going to see some new stuff I guess? This is going to be a real test of whether the LGS sort-of-resurrection that seems to be going on is viable. You guys reckon they can pull off making more stuff that's worthy of the name?

Sure, I'm willing to give them the benefit of a doubt. The demo was not too shabby and they will have people like Warren Spector and Tim Stellmach advising them, after all. And if all goes well with the reboot, there might be some collaboration on SS3 too.

I was concerned about the RPG mechanics stretch goal, but they clarified in an update what they meant by it and I thought their description of what they don't want to do (numbers-heavy SS2-style) was pretty reassuring. So I've backed it too and I'm very interested to see where it goes.

The stream with Tim Stellmach and Warren Spector was reassuring. In it, the guys at Night Dive discussed some of the community's concerns with the demo and made it clear they were aware of those issues and that they agreed with the concerns. They simply didn't have the time and resources to make this an exact replica of how they hope the final game will look and play, and even what they hope for isn't entirely determined at this early stage.
For example, they are aware of the problem of Rebecca Lansing not expressing knowledge of the hacker's situation and they agree with the community. They are aware the grid puzzle interface isn't sufficient or polished. They are aware the art direction is early and experimental and so at places may not be entirely consistent yet. They are aware the demo is poorly optimized and they said the final system requirements won't be so steep. (Remember, it also has to run well on the Xbone and PS4.)
This was just meant to be a quick and dirty proof of concept to help the Kickstarter. It was never meant to suggest specific design or narrative decisions were already set in stone.
On top of all that, it sounds like they have a good, open working relationship with OtherSide.

Well the final tally is $1.35m, so it hit the stretch goal I was hoping for most, though 1.4 would have been nice for the (even more) extra content. If they're still accepting donations after the end of the kickstarter maybe we'll still see those additional areas. But either way this is great news, given the make up of the team I'm confident they can do System Shock justice.

they will set up post ks funding, and the current stretch goals remain unchanged.

I'm proud and happy! That it actually happened!
How many years we were waiting for taking control in "our" hands. For any movements of the IP holder. With no luck. We were getting older, but the hope remained.
Now, the milestone reached! A huge success! My kudos to Stephen and the team! You're doing the right job!

Right, I am going to sound like an idiot (more so than usual) but I read the delivery date as Dec 2016. Arrrgh.
