Better late than never ;) and what you found is not a bug:
[spoiler]The defective lockbox is intentionaly not opening the gate (how should that work? It's obviously defective :p ) You have to find anoter way in. Think of stacking crates. You can use rope arrows as well (that means if you already found some)[/spoiler]

Thanks very much SinisterShadow! :thumb: That got me going again! The reason I didn't try [SPOILER]breaking the glass ceiling was because I'd tried it on others and lost broadheads with no effect, so I didn't think it was possible.[/SPOILER] I should be finishing shortly.

I give up (for now). Please help me, you Taffers. I'm in the haunted guards area now.
I found the [SPOILER]earth talisman[/SPOILER], unlocked a lock behind a statue (???) and can't get any further. I got the [SPOILER]staff and elemental hammer[/SPOILER] but now I'm stuck. I really can't get any further. I've no rope-arrow, don't know where to find one (saw the answers in this thread, but don't know where to look :eww: ).
Crate-stacking isn't an option, since the second crate "flies" over the first one, when I try to stack them .......... so that's nó option either.
Help me please?

Hi Gloria,
I've almost been in your "stuck" situation. Since you've found the [SPOILER]earth talisman, seek the area above where you would think another talisman might be (close to, but across from the earth talisman passage), if the architecture is similar. You'll need to shoot an arrow at the ceiling[SPOILER]to break the "glass"[/SPOILER], then rope arrow your way up.[/SPOILER]

there are several hidden switches in this mission. E.g. search the confessional. You will get in trouble if you can't stack crates though. There is a key that you can only reach by stacking them. Did you try another crate?

Did anyone manage to reach that thing without using the crates?

Yandros is right. It's possible to get that key without the need of any crate. It's even easier not to use them. So Gloria: just go on!

You'll find the rope arrows in the place where you find the Air Talisman. To get to it, you need to go into the confessional booths in the small chapel and find a switch up over the doorway. Flip it to move a statue in the hallway back into the alcove so you can get into a passageway.
