statues. One is moved by frobbing a tiny switch up near the ceiling in one of the confessional booths. The other statue has a lock box behind it that you can just barely see. It unlocks with one of the keys worn by the haunts. I don't know which one.
Actually the other switch is behind the altar.
That's a joke, right? I mean, all those frobbable crates at the beginning, which I smashed to pieces out of sheer frustration at getting stuck so early, those weren't needed to complete the mission . . . right?
There are rope arrows, see an earlier post.

Solomon realised he had erreth, and, remorseful, turned to thank both Nathaniel for his forbearance and William for his diplomacy. Nathaniel placated turned to greet his brother. Praise the Builder! :D I'd given up on this mission. :erm: How to I get to
the area with the dead thief? I'm exhausted, so maybe I missed the post with instructions, but I haven't the faintest clue as to how to get up there. :erm:
There are two switches in the church like area. One behind the altar, one in the confessional. These move the two statues.

I did this to get into the water talisman room, but now I'm stuck, I've scoured the room for switches to either open the coffin with the frobbable lid or move one of them to get me into the adjoining room.
Help!

So everone else appears to be able to get the air talisman? Every time I try to grab it I get the gas! What am I missing here?
EDIT: Alright, don't know if this was how I was supposed to do it, but I:
Leaned in from the stacked stones till I could frob it from the side - then all the gas went off beneath me without affecting me.
OK, i´ve enough of it. I restarted that mission two times, first time because of the unfrobbable-shipwheel (I already had Gaylesaver, but not that BugFix and never needed it until this mission), second time because of the haunts got aggro on Cutpurse after shooting the glass on the ceiling and even found me in those niches (and I couldn´t knock them out).
So I started girly-mode on Warrior and first killed those damn haunts to find those bazillion miniature switches undisturbed. On Cutpurse I just could jump and grab the earth-talisman. On Warrior I got roasted by a dozen fire arrows. Funny. On Cutpurse I frobbed the three statues (Seek my twin brother) by try and error and saved after each right frob (the scroll was not much of a help for me as english is not my native language). After a while they went unfrobbable. I thought I screwed it up and tried it again on Warrior without saving. And they are unfrobbable again. Great. No port or something, just nothing. I got the water and air talisman without anything like a trap (read something about gas??)...
Ok, either I´m to dumb for this mission or the mission is to dumb for me. Neither way is my understanding of having fun. I quit this one.

It was very frustrating - which is too bad because it had great atmosphere and puzzles - it just needs better hints and less reliance on tiny hidden switches.

Thanks! Was there anything in a readable somewhere that would have given me a clue to try that?
The reason the thief got gassed is because he dug through the wall instead of finding the tiny switch in the other room. Seems pointless with the big hole in the wall, but if you find it and open the "proper" entrance into the air room, it disables the trap. Pretty clever, actually.
