Downloaded the very handy Stairway objects by Elvis at the Object Repositry and was wondering what object to use to make them useable, I used wooden crate, removed it's frob info, applied location rotation and changed the model name in shape accordingly and walked straight through it :laff:
I thought that if I used a ladder model as a base reference I would just end up "sticking" to it and have to "jump" to release??
Ideas on a post card please.:D:D

Ideally, i.e. if you can't get or see behind the stairs, use a terrain ramp.
If you need to use an object blocker, make sure you're using OBB. Pretty sure crates are Sphere Hats by default.

I was hoping to use these wooden stairs so that you could get underneath possibly to pick up the odd dropped coin:D

Did you resize its physics model? The crate is small, the stairs are large. The only portion that you wouldn't be able to walk through would be a crate-sized section in the center, until you resize the model's physical dimensions to match the stairs.

Crates are also Sphere model type by default, and you'll want to make it OBB instead. Then set Location, Rotation under Controls and adjust the Dimensions to be what you want. Definitely turn on show_physics_models while doing this, it will show you the collision model in game and make it much easier to see what's going on. Also, you'll want to make it weapon proof or they'll be able to destroy the invisible crate with the sword (which probably would produce visible flinders).

I would have used something like a table so that it has the properties needed to keep it still and keep players from walking through it.

You might get into trouble if you want AIs to walk on the stairs/objects. It's not easy to adjust a rotated object accordingly.
