Ok, I've been playing this game <s>quite</s> a lot for the last week, and after getting used to the user interface that felt really clumsy at first (even walking around was challenging enough at first), I must say that I've really enjoyed it! To me the small(ish) 5.0" screen on my phone seems like the absolute minimum for this though - even now some of the buttons in the UI are hopelessly small sometimes, and reading tons of dialogue can be hard on the eyes, so if you have any problems with your eyesight, you might want to think twice!
Now, it's been about ten years since I last played KOTOR on PC so I can't remember much about it anymore, but this seems like a pretty good port to me. I read some of the user reviews on Google Play, and I saw some people complaining about the lack of character shadows in the mobile port (apparently the "game looks like crap" because of it) and it's true that there aren't any shadows, but I can't say that I've really missed them - in fact I hadn't even noticed until I read about it! :p Of course the game doesn't look that pretty anymore and some of the models and textures are really quite ugly, but it's certainly good enough for my small display at least. Perhaps it looks uglier on a tablet, I don't know.
Back to the game controls, there's one thing that really annoys me, and that's the "mini-games". Swoop racing was difficult and annoying enough with keyboard+mouse, but on the touch screen it's like ten times more annoying and seems almost impossible! Luckily the swoop race that is a part of the storyline is easy enough and this applies for the optional races only, but I'm the kind of a player who wants to finish all the side-quests too, so this does bother me a bit. The space battles where you have to defend your ship against enemy fighters aren't much better either. Moving the gun turret around and trying to shoot at the same time is damn difficult and it's all about luck really, but fortunately you don't have to do that very often.
But these are really just minor complaints, despite of them I can now understand why I loved KOTOR so much when I played it for the first time all these years ago. It's still up there with the best RPGs that I've played. The release discount is still on, so grab the game for half price now while you still can! :)

I agree, there are bit which are hard. But even though you can do the different planets in any order, the planets are not equally hard. There's also some hard things to do that are facultative. Most quests end up giving your credits, and only some give out items, but they're good when you get them(e.g. Bendak's Blaster). But if you play the PC game, save all your stuff from each planet, and go the extra mile to sell stuff to the guy on Yavin. He gives better selling prices, and has awesome stuff to buy, which is also ridiculously expensive.
Once it's late enough in the game, and if your character is specced for it
Buy both of his unique lightsaber crystals and dual-wield them. You will destroy everything in your path with basic attacks alone.
