Recently announced Stargate: Resistance, an online team-based 3rd person shooter for PC.
The graphics look pretty bad for a UE3.0 game. Hopefully they're improved greatly before release (if the game indeed ever sees the light of day, like the Stargate MMO).
I'm surprised that they're bothering with such a project at this point (or why it's PC exclusive for that matter), the Stargate TV series is long past its hayday. (and has frankly been rubbish for several years too. I saw an episode of Atlantis on TV the other day whilst channel surfing, what a load of badly written and acted tosh.)
Quote:
Stargate Resistance is a fast-paced and deadly 3rd person shooter for control of the entire galaxy!
The arrogant System Lords believe they are the true masters of the universe, and have begun a savage campaign to dominate and enslave the known worlds.
Stargate Command operatives are the first line of defense against this menace. Small teams of brave agents use the Stargate to travel about the galaxy and parry the thrust of these alien overlords.
Whichever side you choose, each battle will be one of wits, skill, and reflexes that can decide the fate of the entire galaxy!
* Dominance: Battle for control of the galaxy as either the SGC or System Lords, wresting power away from your foes with each glorious victory!
* Dial It Up: Spearhead the assault by charging through the Stargate into enemy territory--drawn straight from the amazing Stargate series!
* Tactical Battle: Work with your teammates to defeat enemy players in a variety of multiplayer modes including Team Death Match, Capture the Tech, and of course, Domination!
* Game Play Variety: Master all 6 classes and use their unique abilities to turn the tide of battle. Earn experience with each class to advance through the ranks.
* True Stargate Weapons: Play with a vast array of weapons including the P90, Proximity Mines, Staff weapons, Sniper Rifle, .50 MG Turret and Anti-Cloak Sight, Ribbon Device and Ashrak Death Knives!
* Spectacular Visuals: Experience battlefields with jaw-dropping textures and lighting rendered by the Unreal 3 engine!
* Expanding Universe: New content including maps, weapons, and classes enter the fray through future expansions

The dead horse could stand some more flogging.

Yea I admit, the visuals are nothing to write home about. Could use some improvement but this is quite exciting news since the other SG game(I think it was called Alliance) was halted in development.

Well Stargate Universe is pretty new, and it's come in riding on the back of BSG with this game riding on the back of that.
And although I agree that SG is
the most awful sci-fi tosh ever, SG Universe is (as far as I've watched) pretty decent.

http://imgur.com/5MWiDs.pngTerrible. This looks like it would be a budget label release of a game from 2003. Do Turning Point: Fall of Liberty and Hour of Victory finally have a challenger for shittiest looking UE3.0 game?

I'm actually enjoying a bit of SG:U myself. Like you, the original SG series really put me off. I found it too chessy even for a good cheesy sci-fi action series. Universe though, is something else entirely.

As a Stargate fan, I weep at those screenshots.

Hollee shit.
Why is Stargate becoming more and more like Star Trek? ie: shite games/people hating the tv series.
