As with the '90s gaming thread, you don't seem to realise how labelling something as objectively junk in response to people saying they liked it is just a passive-aggressive way of saying they have objectively bad taste. You don't like something? Fine, but try wording it that way rather than trying to make a case that implies you're a bastion of good taste among philistines.

There are a lot of opinions stated as fact in this thread. "Legend was awful" "the combat was great and looked super cool" "objecting to other's statements makes you look like a jerk".
Not everything needs to be prefaced with "I think" or "In my opinion"
Anyway, yes, I've already mocked Henke's tastes, with no perceived objectivity involved, just a simple disagreement which seemingly aren't allowed around here . Additionally, that was in response to an attack, otherwise I would have kept my mouth shut...but of course you're not policing said attacks are you.

But the jerkiness is independent of merely offering alternative opinions. You can disagree like an arrogant jerk or be polite about it. You're coming across as one of those people thinks they can be as abrasive as possible just because this is the internet and you can get away with it. From the first post in the thread you've started the adversarial tone whether you recognise it or not. I personally don't think it adds anything to any good points you have.

The thing about this is that if these Oni guys were supposed to be Japanese, why did they use the model for the big black guy boss on the ship?
I got to the end of the game but it was somewhat disappointing. I've saved some characters I don't really know whether I should care about. However I think it's hard to get character development of any sort into an action game, and perhaps most game writers don't have the skills with story to get it to work.
I'm not sure I've played a game that's done character development particularly well.

Don't give me that crap. All my responses that could be considered in bad taste were responses to posts in kind; attacks instigated by the other. I'm not the bad guy here just because I bashed something with a passion.
Anyway, yes, I'm not interested in juvenile he said she said nonsense either. It's obvious I want to talk about the games whether than be positive or negative in tone without someone getting upset because they don't like what I have to fairly express.

Cool. If you can temper your views without the need to boohoo at gamers' collective IQs seeming to have dropped since some random point in the past and not analysing or wanting games that make people 'think'*, that'd be grand.
I'd like to think we're a level-headed lot collectively and are able to accept games that have some things done well and some not so well without having to drop generalised passive-aggressive insults at others who enjoy different aspects of said things. If not, at the very least having a sense of humour about it takes the edge off ever so slightly.
*And let's try not to use TR as an example of that next time because the only part of TR that made me think was why she kept wearing khaki shorts to all those witheringly cold tombs, with nary a nipple hard-on in sight.

The point I'm making is that you're trying too hard. You seriously need to file down some of these unnecessarily edgy posts, if you don't want to get the reaction that you have been getting here. You don't have to prove your gamer cred here or anything like that. A thread where someone wants to share their experience with a game is not necessarily a call to bash the game. I could understand if it was you favourite franchise of all time and they went ahead and ruined it, but Tomb Raider is the hill you want to die on?

Honestly, what this situation amounts to is some people not liking nor accepting MY opinion expressed in the first few posts. You're upset.
I typed diverse, legitimate words. The second post in particular was a fun analysis of the preceding video. To you the words may translate to repetition and "bashing your opinion over people's heads", but that's not the reality, just how you have decided to interpret it because you don't agree with what was typed.
