Hi everyone. I have started to learn newdark and following directions I have rooms sound and Garrett. I can run around and I can hear ect. I save and close. Later I come back and Garrett is a white triangle and I move in the 3d realm as the camera. Any idea where I went wrong?

Might need some more info on that. What do you mean exactly by "Garrett is a white triangle and I move in the 3d realm as the camera." That sentence doesn't make a whole lot of sense, some additional details would help. Usually if you see white wedges in Dromed, it means you're using some type of incorrect or undefined object.
Don't get too hung up on the New Dark thing - most of everything you do in dromed is going to be the same as it's always been. You could still fire up Komag's tutorial from years ago and make a level using that and everything would work fine.

Did you create a starting point and link it to Garrett -2099 using the PlayerFactory flavor?
Actually I hope you didn't save your mission as dark.gam. if so then you will have to copy it from the install CD back go your Thief folder.

Pretty much just always use .cows until you're ready to test.

I'm using Thief-2 Dromed that's on my desktop after installing T2 along with TafferPatcher. I'm following "Absolute Beginner's guide" By Nick's games.
I safe it as Tut1.
"Did you create a starting point and link it to Garrett -2099 using the PlayerFactory flavor?" yes. When I enter the VictoryCheck It shows
{VictoryCheck;;;False} Is that right?
I'm no programmer so it'll take some trial and error.

What do you mean by "I save and close"? Are you saving while in Game mode or in Edit mode? DromEd has two modes, one is the Edit mode. Edit mode is usually set up with a 4 pane window, usually with 1 pane for 3d view and 3 other panes for top, front, and side views. This is the normal mode for editing geometry and creating your mission. Then there is Game mode. This is entered from Edit mode by the game_mode command (usually set to alt-g) and is used to play-test what you have created in Edit mode. You go back to Edit mode from Game mode by using the edit_mode command (usually set to alt-e). Now, did you do your save from Edit mode, or from Game mode?

It worked fine in game mode so I go back to Edit mode and save. Close out the program and an hour later I fire up the computer, start dromed, Alt, G into game mode and it's f'd up.

I just started over from the beginning and so far it's working this time. I have no answer why it works now. It's as strange as the SHAS or as elusive as the original bow upgrade.

I'm pretty sure you shouldn't place the player object named Garrett into the level, a marker with the proper link is supposed to call him into the game upon start. Markers don't have any model as such and show they shouldn't show up as anything except a small box in the editor.
