In case you Taffers haven't caught on yet, 'ol ZylonBane here is providing a service, therefore he will never "die".
:)

You mean it's a service that he makes sure that every thread contains least 50% off-topic posts?
Or is it language education?
ZylonBane on 8/1/2006 at 00:39
When this happens, it's generally a good indicator that there wasn't much meat on the thread to begin with.

Brilliant, ZylonBane.
Case in point: He provides a certain entertainment value. I have laughed at more of his posts over the years than anyone else except for the true master, Grundy.

Agreed, some (but mostly not) comments have been classics.
Yet, we don't need endless comments about his comments do we? There was a good point being raised originally but again, it's getting obscured.
Unfortunately, I seem to have started this chain of comments off myself:(

The subject was pretty much discussed in its entirety in the first three posts. Yes, that's how it is. We know that's how it is. There's a good reason that's how it is.

How one would implement guards noticing missing loot in a fan mission?
ZylonBane on 8/1/2006 at 16:49
Same way it's done in TDP Undercover. If I recall correctly, you can tag things to make guards suspicious when they're removed. It's all in the engine, LGS just realized it would be bad for gameplay if the guards could notice that all the candlesticks and vases were suddenly disappearing.

Sorry, in some cases - like this thread - it seems there is just not enought "meat in your brain" to understand what people are talking about. Really, we already have moderators - we don't need you as the forum police. If you think people post too much useless stuff, maybe you should ask yourself who is producing most content free discussions on thiefgen.

Still it would be nice to see this implemented more often (but still selectivly). Otherwise I could just imaginge:
*Garrett steals prominantly displayed Prized Jewel/Artefact*
*Enter Guards 1&2*
Guard1: "What the HELL? Where is it?"
Guard2: "Where's what?"
Gaurd1: "Are you Taffing me, it was right THERE a minute ago!"
Guard2: *Sigh*, "You must be new to this, just calm down and I'll explain. If we just pretend that we never saw it, His Lord will have to conclude that it went missing during the day shift and blame them."
Guard1:...
Guard2: "Warren? Where are you?" *shrugs* "Guess he decided to stay at home tonight... O Well"
