A martial arts school north of Atlanta is holding a class on Sunday June 28th, 10 am on the subject of Urban Evasion and Home Defense in which they will be blending Lipan Apache stalking techniques with Indonesian Silat martial art techniques. I believe it cost 25 dollars to join in.
I thought there might be some people in the area who visit these forums that might be interested in checking this out.
The school's website:

Anyone interested?

That is pretty cool! I would love to watch that. I hope you have a decent turn out Jarvis. I hope it goes well. :) If you have pictures later, share them.

Yes, please share this. Especially for the benefit of those of us who are on the wrong continent for this.
I also greatly enjoyed your analysis of the Bujinkan Ninjutsu versus Apache Scout stalking.
Best of luck.

I'm glad you enjoyed that Magpie. I had forgotten all about that. I copied it to a new thread here so others can enjoy it.
As for the up-coming class, I'll be sure to share it as best as I can over the internet. Some of the techniques are very physical, concrete, and easy to explain, while others are mental, abstract, and easily misunderstood. I'm glad you've taken an interest though. Stay tuned.

Hey, hey! With a few stealth lessons I could easily lose a few pounds...
Y' know, try out some friendly excersises, like The Club Thrust, or mayb a few Burrick Benches, and ooh, my favorite, the Zombie Jog.
Hmm, they wouldn't happen to teach this kind of stuff on cheap VHS tapes like you find at a rummage sale, do they... ? :laff:
... Actually, I'm one of the skinniest in my family. Though this is martial arts, not excersise (Unless you consider taking out Sensai without him noticing you to be a muscle building challenge, by all means...), I can't help but imagine just what are they teaching kids these days? In the 80s, these classes would've been all the rage... Today, well, I guess all of us loyal taffers would be willing to land flat on our backs due to arthritis and just-plain-sucking at anything Karate/Ju Jitsu/Tai Qwan Do.

I made a Powerpoint presentation about sneaking and stealth in my English class. It was entirely hand-drawn, I wanted it to have the feel of Thief. It had basically everything that one needs to now about how not to be seen or heard, and how to use your eyes in the dark to see. :)

This is just a week away. I'm guessing there is no one in the area who wants to come, but I figured I'd bump it for a reminder anyways.
Incidentally, the sign up list at the school has grown to above thirty people, which is pretty impressive for any simple workshop, but especially one for stealth skills. It's gotten the attention of a couple of people.
As a result the instructor at another school has been asking around to get the Urban Evasion class taught at his school. That isn't finalized yet, so I won't link that school yet. But as soon as something is set in stone, I'll keep you guys updated.
It looks like all the money, time, and effort I invested into training this stuff is about to pay off a bit.
