Not that there hasn't been any other huge sales on steam this year (the amount I spent on the summer one I swear). But anyways today (according to RPS) marks the beginning of the steam autumn sale which runs for 7 days and has several games heavily discounted. XCOM for $33 yes please.

It's neat-o, but what about the Christmas sale? Gosh, what if X-Com is discounted even more then?
(Academic question, since I can get it for peanuts at retail. I'm just doing this to jerk y'all's chains, that's all.)

I really highly recommend Hotline Miami, even though it has some hiccups sometimes with some systems. It's one of the best little games I've ever played, it drained 15 hours of my life.

Damn it Steam, why do you do this to me? Picked up:
Mark of the Ninja
Deadlight
Cave Story+
EYE: Divine Cybermancy
Binding of Isaac
To The Moon
Gemini Rue
Vessel
And Yet It Moves
Indie Game: The Movie (was planning on renting this tonight anyway).
10 games, $50, me happy.

EYE isn't good at all. I bought it in the summer sale and have regretted it ever since. It's more like a Halflife 2 mod that charges money. Very low quality.

Right, I've heard similar things, but still have always wanted to try it. At $2.49, I won't regret it too much, no matter how bad it is.

If I'd got EYE for free (I did), I'd feel pissed off about the time spent installing it and arriving at the realisation it was a dud (I did). I'l never get those 2 hours back.

EYE is a very hit or miss game, there is no in-between; you either love it or you hate it. Having worked on it (this is a secret for nobody), I can definitely tell why and I understand, the beginning is VERY rough and VERY unpolished, and it was even worse before release. Once you're past that, it gets better, just don't expect something that will blow your mind away because it definitely won't.

It looks great in the trailer video which annoys me. 5 minutes into the game I was already thinking what the hell when whilst watching the tutorial videos in-game I noticed that one was set in an actual Half-Life 2 level with a retextured turret model (other than the texture it was exactly the same) in-use. At that moment I was completely disgusted. And then the first few gun battles after that were just so underwhelming. Such a disapointment.

EvaUnit purchased this for me a year or 2 ago. It is ok, but I couldn't push myself to finish it. A real let down, as it could have, and should have lived up to the hype and been GOTY.
That said, $2.50? Shit, it's worth it for that little for the novelty and curiosity alone..
