OK so this is truly driving me crazy now. Im trying to get Thief Gold (GOG version) to perform how I want on my Steam Deck
Installed via Heroic Launcher and then ran Tfix 1.27 full in Gaming mode and specified the Thief Gold install folder. I have verified Tfix installed correctly as the version number appears in menu when running game.
Everything works so far, EXCEPT my mouse look movement appears to be juddery / jerky / jittery - just doesn't feel smooth at all. Note: I'm playing with keyboard and mouse, Steam Deck docked to my TV.
I've googled and ChatGPT'ed my way around and tried all manner of config updates to the appropriate CFG files including enabling raw input, disabling mouse smoothing, forcing Windowed mode (and full screen), disabling vsync etc. I've also tried various versions of Proton (Inc GE), ran the game in both gaming and desktop modes. Nothing seems to change the jerky / janky mouse look movement (and yet the game appears to run smoothly when just walking).
I've been a Thief fan since the Dark project was first released and am desperate to revisit these games, but I'd go as far as to say the way this makes the mouse movement feels is so awful that I'm on the cusp of giving up and resigning myself to never getting this sorted, which will be gutting.
I should add that I also have a wireless mouse (Logitech G305 2.4ghz) and thought it may be this... So I plugged a standard USB mouse into the Steam Deck dock and... Alas, no difference at all and still seeing the jittery movement.
It would be massively appreciated if anyone could provide me with the details of how they've gotten things set up and working / performing? Are you experiencing the same issue?
Any Steam Deck owners have Thief Gold installed and working fine with mouse and keyboard?
Thanks so much guys

Might have answered my own question... after trying all sorts, including ensuring my TV is in gaming mode (to remove any input latency/odd frame interpolation etc), I simply ramped the mouse sensitivity all the way down in the game and that alone appears to have massively smoothed out mouse look. ChatGPT tells me this is due to 'sub-pixel movement aliasing' (with a lot of blurb to explain). For anyone else tearing their hair out in future (probably just me), reduce your in game mouse sensitivity considerably and ramp up the DPI on your mouse to compensate - result should be smoother movement.
