is happening right now.
I bought The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. Also got my eye on The Evil Within and The Long Dark. Someone please talk me out of/in to buying those two.

I impulse bought The Long Dark.
First impressions: The graphics are uglier than you'd expect and performance is terrible. The AI is amazingly stupid - a single wolf has been running into the bottom of a cliff that I'm standing on. No threats, it just bounded straight towards me. There is no jump or climbing key, so now I have to drop > 20 meters down because a 6 inch high rock is too much. :(
This is the kind of game which isn't about instant gratification so I'll give it a chance.
Update: I fell onto the wolf and it locked me into a button-mashing QTE. I very died.

Yes, some good deals - for some reason they're calling it their "Exploration" sale. Stuff that's tempting:
Watch Dogs $30
Wolfenstein $30
Evil Within $20
Civ 5 complete $12.49
Wolf Among Us $8.50
GTA Complete $15
Even though the sale says it's through December 2nd, some of the sales end before that, so check the details.
@Henke - haven't played it a ton, but really like the game play and style of The Long Dark. Definitely worth the $10 IMO.

The Evil Within's a terrible, GPU clock-cycle sucking port, by all accounts, so try the demo before you buy it. Probably best to get it on the PS4 if you don't intend to get a new GPU.
But you do intend to get a new GPU sometime, because LCatToO, no? :weird:

The winter sale starts in about 3 weeks, so if you're not going to play it before then, then it's probably best to wait.
[I'm so tired, I should stop posting.]

I have all the GTA games already, pondering whether it's worth shelling out ten quid for the convenience of having them all on Steam. Probably not, even I'm not sure I'm that lazy.
As an aside, the Valve bundle sale prompted me to find out that I can register my old CD key for Half-Life to Steam, which is handy (assuming it works).

Yeah, but I'm just Steam's little bitch, I guess.

I actually enjoyed playing through The Evil Within although I bought the game for my PS4. I have several other friends that have been enjoying the game as well. One purchased the game for his PS3 while the other bought the game for his PC after playing the free demo on Steam. The game plays like a mix between Resident Evil 4 and The Last of Us. The demo on steam contains the games first three chapters which should help you determine whether or not this is a game for you. The nice thing about the demo is that should you decided to purchase the game, you can simply continue from where you left off in the demo. The other bonus to the PC version is that you can now remove the black bars and lock the game at 60 fps should you choose. Originally, one had to mod the game in order to do this but bethesda has since patched this option into the game. I didn't mind the black bars but I can understand why some people were bothered by it. Anyways, I would suggest looking into the following if you're still on the fence. While this game may not be for everyone, I think its something that fans of survival horror games can enjoy.
