The last two levels of Super Meat Boy are the evilest things I've ever seen in a videogame in my entire life. I don't even know how to explain it. I...I...I...:breaks down crying:

I haven't seen any mods for Far Cry 2, due to an utter lack of tools. What is there?

Yeah Far Cry 2 is pretty much unmoddable whatever platform you get it on. UbiSoft didn't release an SDK or anything like that, so really the only reason to buy FC2 on the PC is if you prefer mouse and keyboard and Quicksaving. Still one of my all-time favourite games, but it's painful how it could be so much better with a few impossible tweaks.

The game is far far better if you skip the side missions.
In what way?
Jason Moyer on 10/1/2011 at 09:41
In the way that you don't spend most of the game doing the same 2 missions over and over. You also typically never have to go through a checkpoint more than once or twice if you just follow the storyline. Using side missions to unlock equipment is pointless anyway since the game happily does it for you as you progress through the main missions.

Fair enough. Although the main missions don't unlock ALL equipment, do they? And even if they do, do you have enough money to buy them all?
But granted, having all the equipment isn't necessary for completing the game anyway.

Yeah, I didn't find the respawning too bad either. In fact, I don't really remember enemies respawning 'not even minutes after you cleared it'; they do respawn, yes, but it seemed much longer than that to me. Then again, I played the game fully patched, and I believe they adjusted the respawn rates in one of the patches.
The re-spawning appeared to be strictly distance, not time. I could get a checkpoint to re-spawn
very quickly if I drove around an outcrop and circled back. Once I understood this mechanic it wasn't so difficult to deal with; you can never think of a checkpoint as "cleared" unless you're standing in it.
BTW, the waterways, especially in the second map, are often the easiest way to travel. There are fewer checkpoints on the water, and you can blow through most of the checkpoints faster than they can crew a boat to give chase, in stark contrast to driving through a checkpoint which typically got you a stubborn tail. (Just watch out for laser-guided missiles on the lake...)

Also, the assassination and convoy interception side missions are tacked on and shit.

The only mission I didn't do was a buddy mission I deliberately skipped so I could shift my primary from a douchebag to a babe. The interception missions in particular I thought were a blast. Nothing quite like setting an ambush...
