Really? I thought it was a full on update with new models and textures. Generally, last gen era low poly models and environments wrapped with modern high res multilayered textures end up looking funny.
I'll have to check out more screenshots to see if Ubisoft pulled it off well or not. If they didn't, hell, I'll just go with old SoT.

I think they did a couple of things like give the models fingers capable of articulation, but everything I read seems to be skimpy on the details. They don't seem to have really redone the textures, just touched them up a bit and applied normal maps:

Renz is probably taking about Prince of Persia Classic, the remake of the original 1989 PoP that Ubi released on the consoles with SoT's graphics.
I could have sworn that was included with the PC version of SoT.

Now that's disappointing. Other than native widescreen support, it almost looks exactly the same. : \

That's a secret level in SoT, and it's only the one level, unfortunately. There's a full-blown remake out there that's a couple years old.

According to Steam, I have played the game for 35 hours, and I have yet to get any such upgrades.
I'd have to fire up the game to check, but you should have several other multi-class specializations by now for that slot, like better explosives, body armor, better medkits, sabot shotgun rounds, etc.
Edit: This might be old, but here you go. It probably doesn't apply to Vietnam (haven't purchased that yet):
Slot 1:
Lightweight Combat Equipment
Ammo Hip Bandolier
Grenade Vest
Medic kit improved heal
Red dot scope
4X Rifle scope
12X High-Power Scope
Explosive leg Pouch
12-Gauge Slugs
Slot 2:
Ceramic body armor
Magnum Ammunition
Improved Demolitions
Medic kit improved range
Marksman assault rifle training
Marksman SMG training
Extended shotgun magazine
Sniper spotting scope
Slot 3:
Vehicle motion sensor
Hardened Armor
Quick reload package
Extra damage
Smoke countermeasures package
High-power optics package
Coaxial machine gun
The thing people don't seem to understand about the unlocks in BC2 is that the guns and specializations tend to be balanced so that the advantages gained from them depend on your role within the tactics of the team. Everyone has been bitching about things being unbalanced in the game since it was released, but there's much more of a rock/paper/scissors aspect to the balancing. People will bitch about M-60's being overpowered, but then they bitch about people taking out packs of medics with Carl Gustavs, then they bitch about the AN-74 being overpowered, and everyone complains about snipers. Shotguns are also overpowered. And medkits. And ammo boxes. And grenades. EVERYTHING is overpowered. That's one of the reasons the game kicks ass. Hell, in most games I get most of my points sitting at the UAV station and firing rockets into the M-COM stations, and it probably seems overpowering to the other team when I'm flying in and out of cover or sitting in a hiding spot in the rear of their base using the v-optics upgrade (as opposed to the machine gun bullshit everyone takes which is a waste of a specialization slot - depending on how you play).

Has anyone played T-72 Tank Command? I'm watching this (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87B_LKOEMjU) video and it looks like it's using the ArmA engine, down to the textures and effects.
Edit: Actually not just the textures/effects, but the dialog and the "speed up/turn left" quotes that are in ArmA if you command a tank with the WASD keys.

Thanks for the list, Jason. I have most of the things from the first and third lists, but only SMG Marksman and the useless spotting scope from the second list. I'll admit that I probably haven't given the game a fair assessment as I found the controls to be aggravating (mandatory mouse smoothing whaaat), but there were certain things I noticed again and again that got on my nerves. I'll probably end up getting the Vietnam pack when it goes on sale at some point.
I've never heard of that tank sim before, but for $2 on Steam I may have to buy it. Recently I've been playing Red Orchestra like crazy as I love the realism in the tank battles (compared to Battlefield), so a full-fledged tank sim may be the next step.

I'm really liking BC2 tbh- finding myself a competent sniper from time to time.
Metro 2033 is getting pushed aside for the time being because hey, suddenly I have Alan Wake!

I think I might wait on it. Maybe get the cel shaded Prince of Persia, or maybe one of the Sands of Time sequels I never played.
I'm playing the cellshaded one right now
and
it's
not
good.
I can usually find something nice to say about most games but this one has me stumped. The gameplay is way too forgiving. The story is dull and the characters are two dimensional. But worst of all is the setting and the levels. A lot of the fun of SOT and it's sequels was running parkour-style through a real world-setting. But in this game it's all abstract magical fairyland, with platforms and poles seemingly only there for your platforminggame-challenge-pleasure. Except it's so easy it's no challenge or pleasure at all. And if you mess up and fall to your death(which isn't actually possible) it's not so much because you mess up as it's because you're simply too bored to figure out how to get past an obstacle correctly before taking a leap of faith.
If you're gonna buy a POP game I reccomend Two Thrones instead. WW wasn't bad either.

edit: Just picked up the Indie Fright Pack. The Void for 5 bucks? Sure! Plus Burn Zombie Burn looks like a cool Robotorn-alike. And The Path always piqued my interest, might as well try it out, too.
Don't forget Zombie Driver, it's fantastic!
