I actually kinda liked the fantasy stylings they had going on in the new PoP. But the gameplay, for the very reasons you stated, is what kept me away from it. If a game is easy to the point where it becomes a press A to win scenario, then it better have a good story or some other strength to fall back on. Otherwise it'll get real old real fast.
It's the reason why I couldn't get into any of the Lego games, once I got past their charms. Why I didn't like the DS Zeldas. Or why Diablo style games always become boring to me after I play them for a couple of hours. After awhile, an easy game becomes a grind simply to get to the end. You don't get any joy out of playing it.

If you're trying to "win" the Lego games, they aren't really that easy.
The PoP reboot wasn't the greatest thing ever, but I thought it generally had better/less combat than the rest of the series and there seemed to be a lot more optional explorable areas than in the other games, most which can be a pain in the ass to get to.

Thanks for the list, Jason. I have most of the things from the first and third lists, but only SMG Marksman and the useless spotting scope from the second list.
Yeah, the spotting scope is one of the things that seems totally broken. From what I gather if you use it and you get close enough to the other team, you can just look through your scope and it will automatically spot anyone who moves within your field of vision. Can't say I've ever had it work though.

I'm totally on for a Plain Sight match if anyone wants it.
After having watched this (

So far I've bought Arma II, The Polynomial, and DeathSpank on the 1-day sales and Dirt 1, DeathSpank TOV, and Shattered Union on the normal discounts. Hit pretty much everything I want right now unless something great hits a 1-day sale.

Curses I missed out on Fallout New Vegas.
I wanted to know what all the hub-bub was about.
And GTA 4 is region locked.

The X series is going cheap in one big lot. What are they like? I've always been kinda intrigued by them.

They vary somewhat. X2 and Terran Conflict both start off fairly hard, but Reunion was slightly better in that regard.
Their main problem is that they're essential economy simulators that you have to play from the cockpit of a flight simulator. There's absolutely depth to them, but their core is the economy, and the interface isn't designed for it.

WOOORRRRP ZOOONNNNEE
Super Meat Boy is awesome. That is all.
Oh, and I've already got all A's in the light world forest, and over half in dark world. This is because I am awesome, too. Now that is all.

Anyone planning on buying the special editions of Monkey Island should consider doing so now (I was hoping for boxed versions but that's not going to happen I think).
